THE ACCOMPLICES OF SILENCE

“The accomplices of silence are silent and passive people facing an act of repression.
Means: cowards, and in opposition, (in positivist today's meaning), waiting rebel people ready to revolt.
Means: revolutionaries. In fact, cowards who are traitors. In the two cases, is a waiting state.

The accomplice of silence, are people who does not act in front of unbearableness.
People who justify their misery by normality. As they said, "this is it", "that's just the way it is". Cowards.
Those who hold the power of execution, the one who prevent people to live without frustration.
Those who obey in submissive attitude, to sustain a general tyranny of this frustration, the one
to erase the everybody's freedom. To subject everybody to normality. Also said by euphemism
and misinterpretation, civility. In the name of terrorist ideal, order. The disorder fear. The
accomplice of silence are the bedrock of the authoritarian dictatorship society, because they
standardize the everyday intolerable. The normal life. That's just the way it is. The intolerable
normal life.

Our performance, is on an opposite position. A state of action who scold inaction, who scold
silence, who scold fatalism, who scold stupidity.

The changing of words meaning, carried out by politics, and broadcasted by the dominant
media, is the result of a voluntary confusion of acts meaning. That it allows to the oppressed,
means everybody, to not start any revolt against all power abuse. And from the dominants, to
play the dangerous game of possible uncontrollable society excesses. Its own collapse. Not
only the collapse of privileges, but the collapse of humanity social meaning. Called also,
the end of civilization.”

THE ACCOMPLISHES OF NOISES

“We are here to discover the freedom of human species. We erase the identifiable
representation of Western culture to know that what we perceive is only the result of our
collective desire. We perceive common ideas from our perceptible cultural language. We do not
speak, we are spoken by our language our culture. But the art of life goes beyond of our
culture, of the culture, and of our understandable understanding. There is phenomena we
cannot hear, listen, and see because we do not have the felling being called by them even if
they are constantly surrounding and provoking us (aliens are always, must stay invisible. If
not, we get scared. We are the explorers of the unperceived (from the chaotic sphere of
silence), where some amazing beings not necessary human are walking around. We blur with
music of pictures and sounds the acceptable of feelings conventions which are both
nonexistent outside ourselves. Sound and color do not exist without our perception,
without emitting the idea of color and sound,
without emitting the idea of our existence nothing would exist.”

Surround video & sound performance. The audience take a travel bath of unperceived explored matter of music. The quadraphonic & quadragraphic option was chosen for convenience (3D octophony and octography is harder to release in usual concert place).

CONVIVIALITY: is one and very important thing of our performance is: conviviality, i.e. we are not separated from the audience as icons on stage for a dictatorial followship. We are not looking for followers. The stage, if there is one can be lighting up: to light up its emptiness. There is no gods to worship through us, artists.

* The idea of conviviality is due to Ivan Illich (1926-2002) as an alternative to the constant oppression and repression.

A CONCERTATIO

« Les Complices du Silence » is a concerto with the musical form of "what-will-happened-next?" (myster shadow-sky unexpected music) for OVO (Organized Virtual Orchestra), electric guitar, and video music of pictures in four voices. The OVO is spatialized in quadraphonic surrounding the audience. The electric guitar is in the center of the place with its own amplifier. The flutes from Bali and Ireland are performed with the myster shadow-Sky voice as additional musical instruments of electric guitar. The video is performed live on four screens surrounding the audience in counterpoint with the music of sounds. In spite of the music density, the performance atmosphere is convivial: Mathius Shadow-Sky and Delphine Depres are among the audience: no icons on stage. This situation allows to have a distance to the performed musical act: to not take ourselves and our music too seriously. It's a whole, conviviality cannot be too serious. The guitar play is in instant composition in opposition to the orchestra which is in fixed strict composition. There is no alienation of musician by the machine, but an expression of freedom. « Les Complices du Silence » is a duet: music & video in constant interaction.

Les complices du silence sont celles et ceux qui se soumettent aux lois abusives et qui n'ont pas le courage de les dénoncer. Les complices du silence, sont celles et ceux qui se taisent face aux lois abusives, et qui n'ont pas le courage de les contrarier. La majorité est silencieuse, c'est une minorité qui agit pour ou contre. La minorité qui agit pour est encore plus minoritaire, mais elle domine, elle gouverne. La minorité qui agit contre n'a pas assez de moyens pour stopper les abus de la minorité qui agit pour, car la minorité qui agit pour est obéie par la majorité silencieuse : les complices du silence. Les complices sont passifs : ils agissent toujours par délégation jamais par eux-mêmes. Les complices du silence, c'est le peuple. Le peuple n'a pas d'intention de vie, il se laisse guider par l'autorité imposée qu'il légitime par sa passivité qui ne dit rien. » Mathius Shadow-Sky
